Rules & Regulations
Committed to Clarity, Compliance, and Continuous Improvement
At Lake Area Waste Water Association (LAWWA), our rules and regulations are designed to support sustainable infrastructure, safe wastewater treatment, and full compliance with local, state, and federal standards. We take pride in offering guidance that is not only enforceable—but also fair, clear, and practical for the communities we serve.
As part of our service, LAWWA assumes full responsibility for each Member’s National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Permit. This includes monitoring, reporting, and meeting all requirements tied to state and federal clean water regulations. We maintain a strong working relationship with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, which allows us to support inspections, investigations, and environmental compliance with efficiency and transparency.

Evolving Standards to Serve You Better
LAWWA continues to define and update design standards and operational rules to ensure they are fair and clearly aligned with our mission: to provide sustainable resources, maintain essential inventories, and ensure ease of system installation and repair.
Construction documentation is available at our office and will be made available here on the website in the near future.
